I wanted to remind you that "Hacker's Holiday Hours" will start as you wind down for the Christmas break. Last year, I got a call from the SOC on the morning of the Saturday before Christmas. My wife made a face on that call, but we did what we needed to do.
I am just coming back online after shoulder replacement surgery. Nothing would make me happier than having an uneventful holiday break because you were in a great place going into the holidays, and the attackers either couldn't find their way in or found you had too much work to hack.
To that end, please ensure your endpoint protection strategies are online and updated. Ensure they are reporting correctly and that you have someone designated to pay attention to the alerts over the holiday break. It would be even better if you could run full scans of updated clients going into the holidays. Hopefully, you can also make a dent in OS and third-party patching through the holiday break.
